Osteopathy Treatments
Osteopaths in Australia are government registered practitioners who complete a minimum of 5yrs University training in anatomy, physiology, general medical diagnosis and Osteopathic techniques. Osteopaths are trained to diagnose not only musculoskeletal problems but also when to recognise when medical referral is required.
Osteopaths take a thorough medical history and physical examination of the whole body so as to find the cause of ones presenting symptoms. This is because a structural problem in one area of the body can affect mobility and lead to pain and dysfunction in another area of the body.
Osteopathy involves safe hands on treatment including massage, stretching and manipulation to help mobilise joints, release tight muscles and realign the spine.
Treatment also involves the prescription of appropriate exercises as well as ergonomic and postural advice.
After an Osteopathic treatment patients often feel lighter, have less tension and generally have freer movements. For 24hrs some people experience mild soreness as the biomechanical adjustments take place. This is similar to the pain experienced after exercise
This involves inserting acupuncture needles into trigger points (knots) in tight muscles. This causes a twitch response and helps reduce muscle tension and myofascial dysfunction. Can be done in conjunction with Osteopathic treatments or on its own.
Our mission is to put your healing needs first. Together Mark and Jennifer provides personally tailored Osteopathic treatments to reduce pain, recover from injuries and improve mobility. Osteo at Yamba's goal is to make you feel better as quickly as possible.
At Osteo at Yamba we offer a broad array of Osteopathic knowledge geared to address today’s most common illnesses and injuries. We know there is no such thing as one-size-fits-all cure, so we never use a one-size-fits-all approach to your diagnosis and treatment.
